Basic Financial Management Program
The Basic Financial Management program at the Adult Centre for Employment Readiness & Training is a financial literacy program that is focused on building a foundation for adult learners in the community to acquire the knowledge, skills and confidence to make responsible financial decisions. The program content will be enhanced by presentations and materials from representatives of Affinity Credit Union in the areas of Savings and Banking, Credit and Debt, Insurance, Investing, and Financial Planning. Affinity Credit Union is a key partner for the delivery of this program.
The program provides excellent flexibility for participants by offering both day and evening weekly classes, and an Elearning component. Each class will accommodate up to 10 participants, and the Elearning component will support up to 25 participants, thus allowing up to 85 individuals to be served by the program. The program will run February 7, 2012 until June 6, 2012.

Education & Employment for Refugees & Immigrants
This program provides the immigrant and refugee community of Regina a means of improving employment and educational opportunities, through GED instruction, assistance in securing employment, and assistance in researching and selecting post secondary educational opportunities.
Program Schedule: September 2011 – January 2012, open to 10 participants, Tuesday to Thursday from 9:00am to 3:00pm.
Safeway Career Development Program
This program in partnership with Safeway provides instruction, supports, and services that develops essential skills and provides labour market attachment for unemployed adults. Safeway hires all the participants that successfully complete the 14 week Essential Skills Development component of the program
Program Schedule: The program will be open to 12 participants over a period of 26 weeks. The program will begin November 21, 2011 and will end June 15, 2012.
SIAST Short Order Cooking
SIAST, in partnership with ACERT offers a Short Order Cooking program. This program responds to the food service industry's need for this particular type of specialized cook. Successful graduates will receive SIAST’s Short Order Cooking Applied Certificate and time credit towards journeyperson status. Students will be involved in two weeks of employment skills development at ACERT before starting the accredited component of the program. Students will complete the program with a two week work placement.
Students accepted into the program may qualify for tuition and livings expenses through Provincial Training Allowance (PTA).
Program Schedule: November 16, 2011 to March 5, 2011, Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 2:30pm. There will be two information sessions held on November 8 at 2:00pm and Tuesday November 8:
SIAST Early Childhood Education
SIAST, in partnership with ACERT offers the Early Childhood Education program, and is a certificate program. Graduates are prepared for employment as early learning and child care professionals in group care and education settings with children from birth to age 12. Students will be involved in two weeks of employment skills development at ACERT before starting the accredited component of the program. Students will complete the program with a two week work placement.
Students accepted into the program may qualify for tuition and livings expenses through Provincial Training Allowance (PTA).
Program Schedule: November 1 2011 to February 3 2012 (First Program)
March 19, 2012 to June 2012 (Second Program)
Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 2:30pm. There will be two information sessions held on Wednesday October 12 at 2:00pm and Tuesday October 18 at ACERT.
Computer Training
ACERT provides basic computer training that consists of Keyboarding and Microsoft Office, such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel applications. This program is designed for continuous intake, and participants may start the training at any time throughout the year and work at their own pace, with assistance from the class facilitator.
Program schedule: The program runs from September to June, Mondays and Tuesdays, from 9am to 3:30pm.
