Bunge and Regina Food Bank Launch Farmers Feeding Families to Support Neighbours in Need

Up to 105 tonnes of Saskatchewan grown lentils to help feed families in need
Regina, SK (February 12, 2026) The Regina Food Bank and Bunge are proud to announce the launch of Bunge Farmers Feeding Families, an impactful partnership that will help strengthen food security across Southern Saskatchewan. Through this initiative, Bunge is donating up to 105 tonnes of locally grown lentils with an estimated value of $250,000 annually, providing a significant, nutritious food supply to help feed individuals and families facing food insecurity in the region.
Lentils offer high nutritional value, are shelf-stable, and can be used in a wide variety of meals. This donation will support the Regina Food Bank’s ability to provide a consistent, plant protein option to neighbours in need while also highlighting the important role local agriculture plays in community well-being.
“At Bunge, we play an important role in marketing and moving our farmers’ crops to support the food security of countries around the world,” said Kyle Jeworski, head of Bunge in Canada. “As an industry leader with a significant presence in communities across Saskatchewan, we firmly believe it’s just as important to support food security here at home and our partnership with the Regina Food Bank is a great way to demonstrate our commitment.”
The donated lentils will be distributed through the Regina Food Bank’s food distribution programs, partner agencies and school food programs, helping thousands of families and children access nutritious meals. As food costs continue to rise, protein-rich foods like lentils are increasingly important in supporting balanced diets for families.
