Food doesn’t just appear on grocery store shelves. It begins with the dedication of farmers who work tirelessly to bring it to our tables.
Every meal we share is more than just food. It's an opportunity to connect with friends, family, and neighbours while building stronger communities together.
Community is something Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan know well. Chicken is the #1 protein choice of Saskatchewan consumers, but the 66 registered chicken farmers understand that it takes more than food on your plate to be truly nourished. Care is the most powerful form of nourishment, and the right food choices for families help our neighbours realize their potential. To support this, Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan have invested $175,000 into the BMO ASAHTOWIKAMIK Community Food Hub.
The Chicken Farmers Protein Section at the Community Food Hub, will serve as a vibrant space for education, food distribution, and community connection. Clients will not only enjoy meals featuring chicken-based ingredients but also leave with recipes and high-quality protein to take home. Regina and area classrooms will have the chance to visit the food hub, gaining valuable insights into nutritional and financial literacy, and discovering the vital role Chicken Farmers and the agricultural industry play in supporting a healthy, sustainable community.
The Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan are dedicated to supporting our local communities by providing safe, high-quality, locally sourced chicken. Our farmers are committed to ensuring that everyone has access to nutritious, locally-sourced food. As Frank Cuevas, Communications & Producer Programs Manager, puts it, ‘This investment aligns with our mission to nourish families with healthy, nutritious food, and together, we're working toward a healthier community, one meal at a time.’

Did you know that Chicken Farmers of Saskatchewan (CFS) is a farmer-run, non-profit organization representing around 66 registered chicken growers?
